Kennedy Center Arts Management Institute Fellowship

by selena on February 23, 2010

Hi ELNYA–

Remember our buddy Brett Egan?–used to be the ED of Shen Wei Dance, the group that stared in the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics?  Well, Brett used to hang out with us and do cool things in NYC but now he’s doing cool things in DC at the Kennedy Center.   He asked me to remind ELNYA about the Center’s awesome fellowship for mid-career professionals.  The program is a great alternative to an expensive arts admin grad program and has many illustrious alum including our own ELNYA Steering Committee member, Christy Bolingbroke and former ELNYAn/current Kennedy fellow, Aliza Arenson.

Anyway, it may be just what you, or someone you know, has been looking for to build more super arts management skills…

Arts Solidarity,

Selena

The Kennedy Center Arts Management Institute Fellowship provides 10 mid-career arts managers with academic training and practical work experience at the nation’s cultural center, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic performing arts institutions.  Fellows study with senior staff in weekly seminars (strategic planning, development, finance, and marketing), and complement that study with practical work rotations in three departments.

The nine-month, full-time program begins in September. A stipend, coursework materials, and health insurance reimbursement are provided. A minimum of three years work experience is required. International applicants welcome. (The Center also offers a month-long Summer Fellowship for international participants only).

The application deadline is April 1, 2010. Please visit http://www.kennedy-center.org/education/artsmanagement/#fellowships for more information and application instructions. Contact: Joel Hoard, jmhoard@kennedy-center.org
