Urban Arts Partnership is a non-profit arts education organization that serves students and teachers in Title I schools across New York City. Our mission to strengthen public schools by providing arts-based solutions to urban educational issues. The organization’s interdiscplinary programs continue to evolve and grow, and we are currently expanding our development department.
In partnership with the Executive Director, Development Director and Director of Events, the Individual & Corporate Giving Manager will help create big picture strategies and a comprehensive Development Plan to reach fundraising goals through Individual and Corporate support. The Individual & Corporate Giving Manager manages the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major donors as well as well as the development of corporate giving plans associated with volunteer initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in the creation of a comprehensive Development Plan, devising broad strategies to accomplish fundraising goals and focusing on goal-setting for each campaign
- Cultivate and steward Individual and Major Gift Donors
- Cultivate and steward Corporate Relationships, including volunteer initiatives
- Work with the Development team to ensure the success of all fundraising special events
- Manage and execute small fundraising and non-fundraising special events
- Work with the Development & Marketing Board Committees to plan and implement communication, marketing and development initiatives

Qualifications / Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree required, Advanced Degree preferred
• 3-5 Years experience in a non-profit setting; minimum 3 years development experience
• Basic Development / Fundraising skills including how to cultivate and steward individuals, research and write proposals, and build relationships with a variety of constituencies
• Experience in youth-friendly environment, including direct service work with youth as staff or in a volunteer capacity
• Rudimentary knowledge of nonprofit environment in New York City and youth development practices and principals
• Strong understanding of planning and managing fundraising special events
• Ability to think strategically and creatively
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent social and interpersonal skills and comfort speaking in public
• Strong leadership and communication skills, including writing and editing ability
• Comfort interacting with board of Directors or other persons involved in financial health of organization
• Experience supervising staff and consultants
• Ability to work interactively with others in environment that stresses teamwork
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, database and internet applications
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Be a flexible, skilled problem-solver and self-starter
• Sense of humor
