Marketing Intern Description

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Marketing department is responsible for branding and marketing all of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s programs, services, memberships, and products. The department also leads the effort to generate ticket revenue for Jazz at Lincoln Center and plays a key role in audience development strategies for the organization.

The Marketing Intern will assist Marketing staff with a number of projects to support the organization’s marketing needs.

Internship Highlights:

  • Provides undergraduate and graduate students with first-hand professional experience in a non-profit, performing arts organization.
  • Internships are available for Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.
  • Internships require a minimum of 20 hours per week, and scheduling flexible within business hours
  • Internships may satisfy school requirements for earning credit. Students must provide relevant school documentation.

Responsibilities: Project like in nature, including:

  • Research and review promotional strategies of national organizations and make recommendations.
  • Identify, research, and collect contact and demographic information for key stakeholder groups to whom we want to market our products and services.
  • Basic administrative support tasks as necessary.
  • Develop and present partnership recommendations.
  • On-site event coverage and management.
  • Interns are expected to participate in daily activities, contribute skills and ideas, and produce high quality work.

More marketing work would be available to the intern based on his or her skills, knowledge, and proficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university; High school students will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office products.
  • Keen interest in arts management, especially as it relates to jazz music.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to interact with staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to work in detail-oriented environment.
  • Passion and/or knowledge of Jazz preferred.
